Youth Care WorkerProvides case management assistance through intakes, transportation and provides support in day-to-day functions of the safety wellbeing of the children. Assess relatives and/or sponsors at place of release to ensure their identification. Average travel could range between 5-10 travel events a month.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Ability: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.Mathematical Ability: Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills:Microsoft Office SuitePreferred Education/ Experience/ Skills:Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.1+ years' experience working with children and families.Attainment of at least 21 years of age.Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
