Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Experience: • 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months. • 36 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years. Requirements: • Candidates must have a New Mexico license or compact license (required for submission). • This role will require floating to multiple units • Local & travel allowed. • No current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Artesia General Hospital. Additional Details: Dress Code: Artificial nails are not permitted. Hair coloring must be natural colors; acceptable hair coverings should be worn if hair coloring is outside of natural color. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to. Required Skills/Experience: - Must have 3 years of MS-Tele experience. - Must be able to read and interpret telemetry. Preferred Skills/Experience: - PCU/Stepdown experience preferred. - Ability to maintain intubation preferred. Special Requests: - Block scheduling is not guaranteed; manager will ask for an ideal schedule, but travelers are expected to be flexible to help fill gaps in permanent schedules. Requests will be accommodated when possible without impacting staff schedules. Unit Details: - Medical/Surgical/PCU patient population. - Occasional titration of insulin, amiodarone, and levofed drips. - Uses TruBridge - Evident/CPSI charting and Mindray cardiac monitors. - Continuous bipap/cpap patients are managed on the unit; RT is in house 24/7, designated to the unit on days, and one RT is in house at night. - Travelers are typically not asked to step into the charge role. - Nurse aides assist with vitals, ADLs, I/Os, transfers, transports, and showers. Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend. - May be asked to participate in holiday rotation. - No call or standby requirement. Floating Requirements: - Depending on competency, may be called upon to work in the PCU within the department; PCU patients can be very ill and may be on drips or invasive monitors.
