Emergency Medicine Physician – Rural Critical Access Hospital – Oak Bluffs, MA

Start Date: 09/01/2026

End Date: 12/01/2026

Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)

Hours/Week: Approx. 36 hours

Employment Type: Locum/Temporary

License/Certs: MA Medical License, ACLS, DEA

Experience: Minimum 1 year in Emergency Medicine; rural/community setting experience preferred

Pay & Benefits

Hourly Pay Rate: $245.90/hour

Pay Package Details: Competitive pay with overtime at 1.4x for holidays; first 8 hours of orientation are non-billable

What You'll Do

Provide high-quality Emergency Medicine care in a 25-bed critical access hospital
Manage a patient census of approximately 20-24 patients daily
Cover ED with limited onsite specialty support and 14% pediatric volume
Document patient encounters efficiently using Epic EMR
Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes
Handle a variety of medical emergencies across all age groups
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols

What You Need

Required:

BC in Emergency Medicine (no Internal Medicine or Family Practice)
MA Medical License and DEA registration
ACLS certification
Minimum 1 year emergency medicine experience

Preferred:

Experience in rural or community healthcare environments
