Service Advisor responsibilities include:

• Initiating automotive services and repairs by identifying vehicle performance problems and service requests
• Verifying warranty and service contract coverage
• Developing estimates and writing repair orders
• Maintaining customer records
• Serving as the communicator and liaison between the customer and technician
• Explaining provisions and exclusions of warranty and service contracts
• Costing materials, supplies, and labor to develop estimates
• Preparing repair orders by describing symptoms, problems, and required repairs
• Communicating additional repair and service needs to the customer based on vehicle inspection
• Administering the manufacturer warranty for qualifying vehicle repairs
• Presenting a friendly, professional greeting to customers and helping resolve their concerns
• Consulting with customers on applicable service specials and keeping them informed on completion times and service expenses

Service Advisor qualifications include:

• Previous service advisor experience, preferred
• A team player focused on providing exemplary customer service
• Basic mechanical understanding of an automobile
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Positive and outgoing personality with high energy
• Confidence and persistence
• Upbeat positive attitude
• Strong work ethic
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
