Provide quality service and positive interactions. Assist physicians and staff as requested in selection of practical application and technical factors. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.Detailed responsibilities:PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocolsPATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processesPATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue riskPATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely mannerPATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"PROCEDURES - Perform diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures including portable and in the OR; operate imaging equipment, computer, and other assistive devicesX-RAY - Follow prescribed techniques to administer general and specific x-rays; adjust equipment; calculate exposure factors, position and immobilize patients as necessary, use appropriate lead shieldingOBSERVATION - Observe patient and equipment during procedures; document patient reactions or problems in Tech Comments and report immediately to supervising technologistQUALITY CONTROL - Evaluate images for technical qualities and remedies; provide corrective action to improve qualityPAPERWORK - Complete and verify all appropriate paperwork involved in but not limited to exams, patient education, lab results and patient check listsPATIENT CARE - Assume care for physical needs of the patient during examinations and proceduresIMAGING - Assist physician with imaging process; follow Radiology Department protocolsQUALITY CONTROL - Assume responsibility for portions of the quality control programs and provide instruction as requiredSAFETY - Provide protection to patients, family members, staff and self in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards and ALARASUPPLIES - Clean assigned area; maintain stock supply levels through inventory controlPATIENT ASSISTANCE - Assist in reception and scheduling areas; aid patients and transport them, as necessaryFLOAT - May be required to float to another work assignment/areaQualificationsEducation:Essential:TrainingEducation specialization:Essential:Radiologic TechnologyExperience:Essential:Completion of first year of didactic education and clinical trainingNonessential:Credentials:Essential:CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 daysPhysical Conditions:Working conditions:Essential:Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as requiredDepartment: Clinical Care
