Join a team that fabricates custom pressure vessels on a stable, predictable work schedule. As a Pressure Vessel Fabrication Operator, you’ll turn heavy plate into precision components using plate rolls, brake presses, and cutting systems—supporting top-tier quality and safety every step of the way.
A Day in the Life- Review job specifications and blueprints to plan your setup and sequence.
- Roll plate from 3/16" up to 1" thickness to diameters up to 120" with accuracy.
- Set up and operate the brake press to form components to spec.
- Operate a 1/2" shear (experience with 1/2" shear is a plus).
- Perform plasma cutting and plate layout for efficient fabrication.
- Support welding operations (welding experience preferred); pursue weld certifications as needed.
- Work independently from clearly defined job specs while collaborating with teammates.
- Operate within the company’s quality control system and uphold ASME-related practices.
- Handle heavy materials safely; stay safety-focused from start to finish.
- Plasma cutting techniques and best practices
- Blueprint reading and interpretation
- Plate layout for complex geometries
- Applicable weld certifications (as required)
- Fundamentals of applicable ASME Codes
- Hands-on experience with plate rolling, brake press setup/operation, shear operation, plasma cutting, and welding.
- Welding experience in an ASME Code environment (highly desirable).
- Proven ability welding pressure vessels or large structural products (highly desirable).
- Dependable work history with strong basic math and reading skills.
- Team-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently from job specs and collaborate effectively.
- Proficiency with CNC tooling; heavy material handling skills; forklift licensed; blueprint reading.
