Communications and Public Relations Specialist

$29.42/hour; 37.5 hours/week

  Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license

The Communications and Public Relations Specialist must be able to perform a variety of marketing/promotional and administrative duties in support of the City Manager’s Office and city economic development initiatives. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing promotional and marketing materials such as graphics and video content, creating and monitoring social media posts on various platforms, and assisting with community and neighborhood outreach events. Must possess proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, design and desktop publishing software programs, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have good organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Successful candidate will satisfactorily complete an interview, skills assessment, and may be asked to submit a portfolio upon advancement in the interview process.
