Clinical Teaching Assistants facilitate student learning primarily in clinical practice settings, with responsibilities that may also include community-based environments and simulated settings. This position is for the Salina campus and reports to the Salina Campus Dean. The position of Clinical Teaching Assistant is considered a temporary position for the term of the contract.## **Job Description:****Job Duties*** Provide ongoing feedback on direct patient care and clinical assignments to support student learning, development, and safe clinical practice.* Guide students in various clinical care areas, including hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings.* Collaborate with department faculty to ensure alignment with program objectives.* Foster a learning environment that develops students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, communication, and problem-solving abilities.* Collaborate with nursing faculty to prepare for clinical, lab, and simulation instruction.* Create a clinical learning environment conducive to effective learning within resource limits.* Apply and enforce student-related policies and standards in accordance with KUMC policies, including addressing issues related to student conduct, performance, and professionalism.* Utilize institutional technology systems, including learning management systems, e-mail platforms, and office software, to support instructions, communication, grading, and documentation.* Evaluate student progress using established program and School of Nursing methods, including clinical performance evaluations, competency checklist, direct observation, and adherence to course grading criteria and clinical objectives.* Maintain records in accordance with administrative guidelines and legal standards to support compliance and program requirements.* Attend all required orientations.* Attend ALL clinical and lab classes.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
