Applications Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking Boiler Sales & Application professionals across multiple experience levels—from developing representatives and application engineers to experienced and senior-level professionals. This full-time role blends technical boiler knowledge with consultative sales, customer relationship management, and application support to help contractors, engineers, building owners, and other customers identify and implement effective boiler and mechanical system solutions. Scope and seniority will be aligned to your technical expertise, industry experience, sales background, and ability to independently manage customers and projects. Senior-level professionals may also serve as technical resources and mentors to other team members. Regular travel is required throughout the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, including contractors, engineers, building owners, purchasing contacts, and other industry partners.
• Travel throughout the assigned territory to support customers and achieve sales objectives.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop prospective customers and sales leads.
• Prepare and present price quotations and bids based on project requirements, material and labor costs, and manufacturing schedules; follow proposals through customer review and approval.
• Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and sales information in the CRM.
• Investigate and assist in resolving customer concerns related to projects, equipment, and deliveries.
• Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and sales indicators.
• Attend trade shows, customer meetings, factory visits, networking events, and other industry events as needed.
• Gather and clarify boiler, mechanical system, equipment, and application requirements with customers.
• Review and interpret contract drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
• Support equipment selection, system applications, installation considerations, and technical solutions for contractors, engineers, and owners.
• Provide technical feedback related to system and equipment design.
• Conduct equipment demonstrations and technical product presentations; conduct or participate in educational presentations for engineering firms, contractors, and customers.
• Maintain current knowledge of boiler technologies, equipment, industry developments, and relevant product offerings; develop turnkey solutions when appropriate.
• Collaborate with project managers, inside/outside sales, engineering, and service teams to support successful project execution and transition projects from sales/design through project management and service.
• Contribute to improvements in sales processes, customer service, and overall performance while maintaining a professional presence in all interactions.

• Comfort using equipment, technology, CRM systems, and related software.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.

• Boiler, combustion, HVAC, hydronic, mechanical systems, or related industrial equipment experience
• Proven technical or equipment sales experience
• Experience working directly with mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, and building owners
• Experience with major commercial or industrial boiler manufacturers
• Relevant boiler, combustion, HVAC, or technical certifications
• Experience mentoring or training sales professionals
• Experience managing complex applications or projects from design through execution

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (preferred)
• Experience or demonstrated interest in technical, equipment, industrial, HVAC, mechanical, or boiler sales
• Open to multiple career stages; final level/title and responsibilities will be based on experience and demonstrated capability

Other Requirements

• Regular travel throughout the assigned territory
