*This is with a Public Accounting Firm and requires Public Accounting experience as well as an active CPA license* Job Title: Sr. Audit Manager - Emphasis on EBPJob Location: HybridJob Salary: $170k-$225kRequirements: 10+Years of Public Accounting EBP Audit ExperiencePosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced EBP Audit Manager to lead and oversee audits of Employee Benefit Plans (EBP) in a hybrid work environment. The role is responsible for planning and executing risk-based audits, ensuring compliance with ERISA, IRS and DOL requirements, evaluating internal controls across retirement and health & welfare plans, and delivering clear findings and remediation recommendations to clients and stakeholders. The EBP Audit Manager will supervise audit staff, coordinate with plan administrators and external auditors, and drive continuous improvement in audit methodology and client service.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage end-to-end audits of Employee Benefit Plans, including 401(k), 403(b), pension, and health & welfare plans.Develop risk-based audit plans, perform risk assessments, and define scope, objectives and testing procedures for each engagement.Execute audit fieldwork: test controls, verify participant data and transactions, analyze plan compliance and document findings.Prepare clear, concise audit reports and management letters with actionable recommendations and remediation timelines.Present audit results to clients, plan sponsors and internal leadership; facilitate remediation discussions and follow-up testing.Supervise, mentor and develop audit staff; assign tasks, review workpapers and ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.Coordinate with external auditors, plan administrators, third-party administrators and legal counsel as needed to support audit objectives.Maintain thorough audit documentation in accordance with firm policies and professional standards.Monitor regulatory and industry changes affecting EBPs and update audit programs and procedures accordingly.Drive process improvements and efficiencies in audit methodology, tools and reporting to enhance client value.QualificationsBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent professional credential preferred.Minimum 5+ years of experience in auditing, with at least 3 years focused on Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) audits.Demonstrated expertise in audit methodology and strong working knowledge of ERISA, GAAP, DOL and IRS requirements related to EBPs.Proven experience leading audit engagements and supervising team members, with strong project management skills.Hands-on experience auditing 401(k), 403(b), pension plans and Health & Welfare programs is highly desirable.Experience working with Employee Benefit Plans, plan administrators, and third-party service providers.Familiarity with labor union benefit arrangements and pension plan specifics is a plus.Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency with audit software, Excel and data analytics tools; attention to detail and commitment to high quality deliverables.Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel to client sites as required.Benefits- Generous Vacation/PTO - 5+ weeks- Medical, Dental, Vision- Discretionary Bonus at year end (typically 5-10%)- 401k match- Relocation Packages available
