SUMMARY: In this role the safety specialist is responsible for performing a variety routine and complex administrative and technical task. This position will work closely with operations and engineering and be responsible for planning, developing, administering, and maintaining various components of the Environmental, Health, and Safety management system. They will aid in developing and implementing safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations in our manufacturing environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Facilitate Safety Committee meetings Review, update, audit Lockout/Tagout procedures Establish training schedule and Provide training to ensure OSHA compliance. Perform audits to ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, etc. standards. Provide assistance on incident investigations completion, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation and tracking Help in establishing systems to identify, evaluate and control occupational safety and health hazards Developing policies, programs and projects to abate hazards Ability to effectively initiate change management to drive invested safety culture Assist with company’s safety programs, standards, and procedures to help protect employees against injury and maintain safe working environment. Assist with training activities Perform audits, risk assessments, & Job hazard analysis to identify and mitigate risk to employees Must perform all duties in conjunction with UAI and ISO requirements WHAT YOU’LL BRING: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health, or similar, heavily preferred Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and persuasive skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management Possess an understanding that culture is built on respect, trust, and common goals.
