Remote HR Generalist - Global Operations

About the Role Our client, a leading global technology consultancy, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote HR Generalist to support their expanding international operations. This fully remote position offers the unique opportunity to work from anywhere within South Africa while contributing to a dynamic, fast-paced global team. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to employees and managers across various time zones, covering a broad range of HR functions including employee relations, talent management, performance, and compliance. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, possess exceptional communication skills, and have a proven ability to thrive in a remote work environment. This role is critical in ensuring a consistent and positive employee experience across our diverse global workforce, with specific oversight for our teams in and around Paarl, Western Cape , and beyond. We are looking for a proactive HR professional who can navigate international HR nuances and contribute to our company's growth. Key Responsibilities Provide full-cycle HR support to employees and managers remotely. Manage employee relations issues, conducting investigations and providing guidance in line with company policies and international labor laws. Support performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and annual reviews. Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring a smooth and positive experience. Ensure compliance with South African labor laws and assist with understanding relevant international HR regulations. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures tailored for a remote workforce. Act as a point of contact for employees on HR-related queries, offering solutions and support. Contribute to talent management initiatives, including employee development and succession planning. Utilize HRIS and other technology platforms to manage employee data and HR processes effectively. Promote a strong organizational culture and employee engagement within a distributed team environment, serving as a key HR resource for the Paarl, Western Cape region and other globally located employees. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner, with a strong understanding of diverse HR functions. Proven experience in managing employee relations, performance management, and recruitment. In-depth knowledge of South African labor law and familiarity with international HR practices is essential. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate in a remote setting. Proficiency with HRIS systems and collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Teams). Experience supporting global or remote teams is highly preferred for this role.
