Instructor, Basic Nurse Assistant

Job Description Summary LLCC is searching for a full‑time, tenure‑track, 9‑month instructor to teach in the Basic Nursing Assistant program starting Fall 2026. The role includes classroom and skills laboratory teaching, clinical supervision, lesson preparation, and assessment activities. Responsibilities Teach and conduct assigned classes, laboratories, clinicals, studio and internships. Prepare lessons and provide a course syllabus reflecting accurate content and evaluation procedures. Create a learning environment that fosters student success and promotes active learning. Develop, integrate, evaluate, and assess student learning outcomes in support of the college’s accreditation requirements. Participate in developing and reviewing curricula and instructional methods, including articulation of courses as needed. Consult with advisory committees for program and curriculum improvement. Evaluate and assist students, maintaining accurate performance records and providing timely feedback. Maintain office hours consistent with institutional policies. Comply with registration and records procedures. Remain current in one’s discipline and participate in professional growth activities. Attend scheduled monthly department meetings and participate in institutional operations. Contribute to a collegial and collaborative work environment. Participate in program review and complete academic assessment activities, including conducting assessments twice per academic year and compiling resulting data. Required Qualifications State of Illinois registered nursing (RN) license or eligibility to apply for one. For RNs with an associate degree or diploma: a provisional vocational teaching certificate plus evaluator certificate OR completion of the CNA instructor/Train the Trainer course. For RNs with a BSN or higher: a teaching certificate plus evaluator OR Train the Trainer course is strongly preferred. Two years of clinical experience, with at least one year providing care to older or chronically ill adults. Four CEUs in Alzheimer’s and dementia or willingness to obtain upon hire. Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire. CPR instructor certification or willingness to obtain upon hire. Ability to instruct a minimum of two evenings per week. Employment contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications Teaching experience, especially at a community college. Long‑term care experience. Experience teaching using Canvas and/or other online learning platforms. Salary No degree/Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s: $49,308 – $72,948 Masters: $51,901 – $76,788 Masters +15 additional graduate credit hours: $54,499 – $80,627 Masters +30 additional graduate credit hours: $57,224 – $84,660 Masters +45 additional graduate credit hours: $60,084 – $88,893 Doctorate: $63,085 – $93,337 Benefits Tuition waiver on credited courses for faculty, spouses, and eligible dependent children. Free access to the on‑campus fitness center. Faculty can teach 15 credit hours per semester with opportunities for overload and summer assignments. Instructional modalities include face‑to‑face, online, hybrid, and remote; courses offered in 16‑week and 8‑week formats.
