Role Description

This on-site, full-time role as a Maintenance & Safety Manager is located in Alachua, FL. As the Maintenance & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the integrated management of our refrigerated facility, ensuring the seamless operation of both the warehouse and prioritizing safety protocols. This role combines the responsibilities of a Maintenance & Safety Manager, requiring expertise in both areas to maintain an efficient, safe, and temperature-controlled environment.

You will be responsible for managing and improving workplace safety programs, conducting safety training, evaluating and ensuring compliance with EHS regulations, and performing accident investigations. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with teams to implement industrial safety measures and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment for all employees.

Duties

• Maintain the overall operation and appearance of the facility and property.
• Oversee the entire facility, grounds, projects and repairs.
• Supervise daily operations of the Facility Team to include Facilities Technicians, MHE Technicians, Image Control team, and Welcome Center team.
• Responsible for all fixed and mobile equipment necessary for the operation of the warehouse to include but not limit forklifts, pallet jacks, and loading docks.
• Implement and enhance facility maintenance schedules, focusing on refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Manage/monitor the performance of refrigeration systems, ensuring consistent temperature control.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and preventive maintenance of refrigeration equipment;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as logistics, engineering, or business administration, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of Building, Facilities, and Safety Management in a warehouse or distribution center environment
• Five years in a refrigerated or frozen storage facility.
• Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations
• Experience in conducting Safety Training and implementing safety procedures
• Proficiency in Accident Investigation to analyze and mitigate workplace incidents
• Expertise in Industrial Safety and implementing safety strategies in a warehouse or industrial setting
• Strong leadership and communication skills to foster a culture of safety
• Ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to workplace safety
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field is highly preferred
• Relevant certifications like OSHA, CSP, or equivalent are a plus
• Experience in food distribution or warehouse environments is advantageous
