Qualifications To excel in this role, you must possess: Educational Background: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or completion of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program with a current LPN licensure in the state of practice. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership abilities and a willingness to work with and supervise both professional and nonprofessional personnel. Language Proficiency: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. General Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Maintain meticulous record-keeping, including required LPN forms and charts upon a resident's admission, discharge, transfer, and other significant events. Ensure these records are appropriately filed in the resident's chart or forwarded to the relevant department. Accurately prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the physician. Facilitate the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents, including coordinating transportation and packing, as necessary. Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, wound care, application and changing of dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags, taking blood, sputum, and urine specimens, and care of the deceased or dying, adhering to the facility's policies and procedures. Supervision Collaborate with the facility's consultants as needed and implement recommended changes as directed by the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses. Investigate and address complaints and grievances, submitting necessary oral and written reports to the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses. Exchange nursing reports upon commencing and concluding shift duty hours. Conduct daily checks on all residents to ensure that prescribed treatments are administered correctly by nursing personnel/assistants and to assess their physical and emotional status. Keep the RN Supervisor informed about the status of residents, staff, and related matters. Consumer Service Present a professional image to consumers through your attire, behavior, and speech.
