Medical Transcriptionist
We are looking for a Medical Transcriptionist to accurately transcribe pathology/medical dictations into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). The role also involves editing reports, maintaining records, and supporting the pathology team with administrative tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Transcribe pathology and medical dictations into LIS.
- Edit and correct reports as instructed by Pathologists.
- Communicate urgent (STAT) or critical results when required.
- Obtain patient clinical history, if needed.
- Maintain consultation/send-out logs and related documentation.
- Assist with other clerical and administrative duties.
- Follow laboratory SOPs and quality standards.
Requirements include:
- 0–3 years of Medical Transcription experience.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Strong data entry, typing, organizational, and communication skills.
- High School Diploma (HSD) or equivalent required.
Physical requirements include:
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
