Construction Management, Open Rank Tenure Line Faculty

Job Opportunities at Texas State University The Department of Engineering Technology is seeking applicants to fill a tenure‑track faculty position at the rank of Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor in our growing Construction Science and Management (CSM) and Concrete Industry Management (CIM) programs, beginning in Fall 2026. These undergraduate programs are accredited, and the department also offers MS and PhD programs in construction management. Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses as required by departmental needs.
  • Develop and maintain an independent research program, secure external funding, and publish in areas relevant to construction and emerging research.
  • Engage students in research activities and supervise graduate students.
  • Participate in service activities at the program, department, university, and professional level.
Qualifications For all ranks Earned doctoral degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field (ABD may be considered if PhD completed first year of employment). Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or similar. Excellent oral and written English skills. For Associate Professor (in addition to above) Demonstrated record of excellent teaching. Strong record of research (PI or co‑PI) and peer‑reviewed publications supporting external funding. Minimum six years of full‑time teaching experience. For Professor (in addition to above) Minimum twelve years of full‑time teaching experience. Established national reputation and leadership through service to university, professional organizations, and community. Preferred Qualifications Industry experience in construction and/or construction management, or in construction engineering. Research interests complementary to those of other faculty. Professional licensure or certification (e.g., AIC Associate Constructor, CPC, CCM, PMI‑CP, PE, etc.). University‑level teaching experience in related programs.
