Manager In Training (Part-Time)

Location: Covington, Georgia (Newton Plaza), Store R301US, Hibbett Retail, Inc. Position: Manager in Training (Operations). Hourly pay: $11.50. FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt. Reports to: Store Manager. SUMMARY The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager with overall operations, administration, and supervisory duties, ensuring store goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of customer service and merchandise presentation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Store Manager in controlling assets and managing overall store operations. Collaborate on action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. Assume full responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager. Provide staff and customer guidance across all departments. Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to maintain profitability. Direct staff to meet departmental standards and responsibilities. Communicate inventory movements and customer trends to the Store Manager. Maintain quality customer service in line with the customer service manual. Execute general administrative duties and learn responsibilities of the Store Manager. Promote and sell merchandise and services offered by Hibbett I City Gear. Uphold company policies, procedures, and standards from all relevant manuals. Protect company assets and financial information by enforcing internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise employees in the Store Manager’s absence. Conduct interviews, training, planning, assignment, and conflict resolution in line with company policies and applicable laws. QUALIFICATIONS 1–3 years of retail customer service experience, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Self‑starter with initiative to handle important tasks independently. Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.
