Registered Nurse (RN) and LPN – Job Description

Position Overview
Life and Light Healthcare Services seeks experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) and LPN to provide day-to-day medical care and clinical support in school-based, pediatric, and community care environments. RNs will collaborate with educators, families, and other clinicians to ensure safe, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Accompany the student during transportation to and from school and provide nursing care as needed.
• Deliver direct nursing services as outlined in student IEPs.
• Perform nursing services such as medication administration, toileting assistance, suctioning, tube feedings, catheterization, and IV care.
• Monitor and maintain student health equipment while ensuring safety in classrooms and during school activities.
• Conduct assessments, maintain Electronic Health Records (EHR), and communicate changes in student health to school staff.
• Support emergency response and participate in crisis intervention when necessary.
• Ensure services align with the 7-hour school day / 35-hour school week structure, excluding lunch and commute.

Qualifications

• Valid Maryland RN license.
• 2 years experience in pediatric, school, or acute care strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of critical care, trauma assessment, and airway management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
