We are operating as an approved DoD SkillBridge Organization in accordance with Department of Defense Instruction 1322.29. GDMS is honored to assist our military and has specifically designed our internships to prepare participants for their transition to civilian life.

The GDMS Military Internship program is open to all ranks, enlisted or officer, may apply. Participants are not eligible for compensation from the company, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. A GDMS Military Internship, whether entry or mid-level, is an opportunity for individuals to gain valuable civilian experience through specific industry training during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Participation in GDMS’s Military Internship Program is voluntary, service member-initiated, and must be authorized by the individuals chain of command prior to the start of the internship. Successful completion of all necessary company agreements and documentation will also be required.

This program is being afforded to both active duty Military Members of all supporting branches and Military Spouses. You will job-shadow and learn from experienced leaders and other smart, motivated people. This program will help you develop best in class skills on mission critical work.

As an Embedded Software Engineer, working with custom hardware built in-house, for our Cyber group, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing mission critical NSA-certified Cybersecurity devices in a rapidly growing product line. You’ll be working at the cutting edge of Cybersecurity and high-speed data.

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences:

• Real-Time multi-threaded Embedded software, preferably on Linux OS.
• Model-based development, preferably Rhapsody.
• Extensive experience with Object Oriented design and programming, preferably in UML and C++.
• Long development lifecycle and product lifespans, requiring maintenance and regular technology refresh.
• ARM virtualization extensions, preferably Hypervisor.

What sets you apart:

• Passion for designing complicated systems and working on problems of diverse scope.
• Ability to define the scope, schedule, and expectations for the work you execute.
• Shows initiative on assignments and executes projects with little guidance and can provide technical direction and leadership.
• Ability to turn CONOPS, Specifications or Requirements into software design, code, test plans, and then execute testing/debugging.
• Proficiency with software tools supporting Integrated Development Environments (IDE), version control, defect tracking, and scripting.
• Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Degree Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technical field.

Salary Note This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled. Combined Salary Range USD $100,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /Yr.
