FL-DOH-Seminole County - WIC Program-Nutritionist - The candidate will be responsible for coverage at two different locations, as needed. Two months of training will be provided. See details above.

FL-DOH-Seminole County - WIC Program-Nutritionist

Will cover as needed at either Sanford, Fl or Casselberry, Fl.

Two months of training will be provided, M-F 8am to 5pm. Hours after training are 8:30am - 4:30pm 3-4 days/wk. Dress code - Business Casual' jeans on Fridays.

Job Description:

1) Certifying eligible clients into the WIC Program, providing nutrition counseling and appropriate health related information to clients.

2) Evaluates the clinical and anthropometric data and dietary histories of women, infants and children who participate in the WIC Program.

3) Reviews growth charts with client / caretaker.

4) Completes the medical and nutrition questions in FL-WiSE.

5) Assigns appropriate risk codes and food packages.

6) Follows state guidelines regarding approval of prescriptions for non-contract and exempt formulas.

7) Ensures that appropriate notes/alerts are placed and that high-risk follow-ups are scheduled and completed when required.

8) Provides individual nutritional counseling and teaches group nutrition classes to pregnant women, breastfeeding women, women up to six month post partum and caretakers of infants and children participating in the WIC Program.

9) Perform accurate nutritional assessments, determine nutritional problems, assess client education needs, creates nutrition care plans.
