Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to patients across emergency, intensive, and other care areas requiring pulmonary and cardiopulmonary therapies, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation and monitoring.
• Administer prescribed respiratory therapies, monitor patient response, adjust ventilator settings as appropriate, and manage related diagnostic testing and procedures.
• Monitor and maintain respiratory care equipment, respond to alarms, and participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
• Perform diagnostic testing such as ABGs and EKGs as indicated, interpret results, and communicate findings with the care team.
• Document care provided in the patient record, ensure patient safety and infection control standards, and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff.
• Provide patient and family education related to pulmonary and cardiopulmonary conditions and therapies; participate in rounds and care planning as needed.

Requirements

• Active Michigan state license as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT required; CRT accepted)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NBRC
• Experience: 2+ years of RRT experience required
• Ventilator management and EKG familiarity required
• Travel experience preferred; willing to work in a travel assignment
• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend (Fri/Sat)
• Ability to work in an inpatient acute care setting and adapt to a fast-paced environment
