Vascular Access Nurse Consultant – PICC RN VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider focused on vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare. We provide vascular access device insertion services, post‑access support services including declotting, line removal, port access, and venous access troubleshooting. Job Description We’re seeking RNs with USGIV experience for full‑time roles, with paid training into PICC line insertion. Experienced PICC nurses welcome (Per Diem or Full‑Time). As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our customer's clinical team to resolve venous access issues to facilitate the treatment objectives of the treating physician. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting depending on each individual referral, providing you with a unique career opportunity to observe different treatment protocols and patient challenges. Key Responsibilities Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation Assist with management of PICCs and vascular access devices Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, line removal, and declotting Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines, and other CVADs Eligible for a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for full‑time employment, based on prior vascular access experience. Scheduling Consultants visit patients at different customer facilities and must be willing to travel and fulfill scheduling requirements based on business needs. Full‑time scheduling requirements include three to four days per week, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation. Part‑time (Per Diem) scheduling requirements include a minimum of four scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation. Training and Experience Requirements Ideal candidates are experienced in both ultrasound‑guided IV (USGIV) placements and vascular access device (VAD) insertions Training available in some locations for candidates with recent, consistent USGIV placement experience Priority given to fully trained vascular access nurses, but additional training available for those with strong USGIV skills Required Qualifications Registered Nurse with current license American Heart BLS Certification Experience in vascular access device (VAD) management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting Experience placing ultrasound‑guided IVs (USGIVs) Ability to work independently and fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification Valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites Must possess a smartphone Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of acute care RN experience Experience placing PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound Prior vascular access or PICC experience preferred Compensation is based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.
