Overview TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Atlanta, Georgia. Job Details Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Duration: 8 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Responsibilities Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients. Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients\' immediate conditions or needs. Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment. Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs. Aid physician during examination and treatment of patient; prepare equipment as needed. Educate patients on surgical procedures and discharge planning; initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician. Qualifications & Requirements 1-2 years of recent acute care experience (Med Surg preferred). BLS required; additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment. RNs should be able to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 20 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds as needed; may work in a fast-paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative. Additional Information Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. TotalMed Travel Job ID #1382833.
