Phlebotomist - $19.50

Overview Performs phlebotomy and collection procedures for whole blood and blood components from donors according to organization policies, FDA regulations, and AABB standards. Essential Functions Obtain medical history and vitals from donors and/or patients Perform phlebotomy and collection procedures to collect blood or blood components Display excellent customer service and professionalism toward all customers Assist with recruitment of potential apheresis and bone marrow donors Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and Designations None. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Read, understand and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Write routine reports and correspondence Organize work for timely completion Follow oral and written instructions Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Speak, write, read, and understand English Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Physical Requirements Tasks involve moderate physical demands such as lifting, carrying, pushing up to 50 pounds and may require assistance for heavier loads. May involve climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, standing, and manual dexterity while operating phlebotomy equipment. Environmental Requirements The work involves both indoor and outdoor settings with exposure to adverse conditions, including inclement weather, atmospheric elements, and pathogenic substances. The job may expose employees to blood-borne pathogens. Workspaces are close and small on mobile unit buses, with vibration and motion common. Noise levels are typically moderate.
