Elmhurst Preparatory School of Early Learning, a Reggio Emilia-inspired school, is seeking an experienced early childhood educator looking to join a dynamic community of early childhood professionals who value the importance of providing an environment where children thrive. Your expertise and contributions will be celebrated and valued as we partner together to foster the development of the whole child laying the foundation for their educational journey. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center
- Strong organizational skills
- The ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer and technology skills
- Effective and efficient time management
- First Aid/CPR training will be provided
Responsibilities:
● Develop and maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment
- Implement Reggio Emilia philosophies and Project Approach
- Utilize curricular resources
● Maintain regular parent/guardian communication
● Follow all safety and health guidelines
● Support organizational mission, philosophies, values, goals, and policies
● Communicate with your colleagues through collaboration and curricular planning.
- Employ developmentally appropriate classroom management techniques
- Engage in respectful communication with students, families, and colleagues
- Integrate technology to enhance learning within the classroom.
- Document educational experiences and display children's work in a manner that highlights student learning
- Demonstrate professionalism in conduct, appearance, and practice
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
● Ability to lift and carry children up to 50 pounds
● Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
- Physical and mental health that does not interfere with child care responsibilities
