CT Tech, PRN

Responsible for performing high-quality CT imaging procedures using advanced technical knowledge while ensuring exceptional patient care across a wide range of patient acuity levels, from outpatient to critically ill. Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. Demonstrates flexibility to float between imaging modalities as needed, with preferred experience or cross-training in MRI. Maintains adaptability in scheduling, including variable shifts and participation in rotational on-call coverage, to support departmental staffing and operational needs.

Requirements include ARRT, state registration if required by respective state, advanced CT certification strongly preferred, a minimum of 2 years of CT experience, BLS Certified, and the ability to prioritize and respond to critical situations.

Essential functions include demonstrating proficiency in all CT and diagnostic X-ray procedures, maintaining a safe CT suite environment, promoting radiation safety, reviewing and evaluating imaging orders, adhering to departmental procedures, responding to standby call requirements, recognizing emergent or deteriorating patient conditions, assisting with the safe transportation of patients, demonstrating knowledge of sterile technique, performing venipuncture and safely preparing and administering contrast media, coordinating transport and imaging of critical patients, collaborating with Patient Services, anesthesia, and other departments, assessing patient condition and ensuring patient safety, accurately identifying anatomical orientation, sequence images appropriately, maintaining confidentiality, utilizing hospital informatics systems, accurately documenting patient information and imaging procedures, verifying accurate charge capture, accurately transcribing physician orders, identifying and reporting safety hazards, supporting departmental Quality Improvement initiatives, and initiating occurrence reports.

Physical demands include sitting, conversing, listening, using hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reaching with hands and arms, close vision and the ability to adjust focus, lifting and/or carrying over 20 pounds on a regular basis, pushing/pulling over 25 pounds on a regular basis, and standing and/or walking at least five hours per day.
