Day-Shift Caregivers NeededHelping Hearts USA LLC is growing, and we are seeking compassionate, dependable and experienced caregivers to join our team.Available daytime shifts range from 4 to 12 hours. Shift lengths, start times, end times and available days vary according to each client's care plan, personal preferences and scheduling needs.Applicants must provide their complete daytime availability so they can be considered for appropriate assignments. Once a caregiver accepts a permanent or temporary assignment, they must be able to work the complete scheduled shift consistently.Client-Care LevelsHelping Hearts supports clients with different levels of need. Assignments are matched according to the caregiver's experience, skills, availability, location and ability to safely complete the care plan.Companionship and Household SupportSome clients may primarily need:Meaningful conversation and companionshipSocial engagement and recreational activitiesMeal preparation and cleanupGrocery organization and errandsLight housekeepingLaundry and linen changesOrganization of the client's immediate living spaceMedication remindersTransportation to approved appointments and activitiesSafety observation and general supervisionPersonal Care and Activities of Daily LivingOther clients may require hands-on assistance with:Bathing or showeringSponge baths and personal hygieneDressing and undressingGrooming, hair care and oral careToileting and incontinence careChanging protective undergarmentsMeal assistance and hydration remindersWalking and mobility assistanceWheelchair supportEntering and exiting vehiclesRepositioning and comfort measuresMaintaining dignity, privacy and independence during personal careDementia and Memory-Care SupportSome assignments may involve clients living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease or other cognitive conditions.Responsibilities may include:Providing calm and consistent supervisionOffering appropriate redirection and reassuranceSupporting established routinesMonitoring for confusion, agitation, wandering or changes in behaviorEncouraging safe and appropriate activitiesMaintaining a quiet, respectful and supportive environmentFollowing client-specific communication and safety strategiesImmediately reporting significant behavioral or cognitive changesCaregivers assigned to dementia or memory-care clients must remain patient, attentive and aware of the client's location and safety throughout the entire shift.Mobility, Transfer and Higher-Assistance SupportSome clients may have limited mobility, be at high risk for falls or require significant physical assistance.Depending on the care plan and caregiver training, responsibilities may include:Assisting with walking and balanceSupporting wheelchair mobilityAssisting with bed mobility and repositioningHelping clients move between the bed, wheelchair, chair, commode or toiletUsing an approved gait belt when directedAssisting with sit-to-stand or stand-to-sit transfersUsing a mechanical or Hoyer lift only after required training and authorizationFollowing all one-person or two-person transfer requirementsRequesting assistance when a transfer cannot be completed safelyCaregivers must never attempt an unsafe transfer or use equipment they have not been trained and authorized to operate.Non-Medical Health SupportDepending on the assignment, caregivers may also be responsible for:Providing medication reminders according to the approved care planAssisting clients with approved blood-glucose monitoringDocumenting readings when requiredObserving food and fluid intakeMonitoring for changes in physical, emotional or behavioral conditionReporting falls, injuries, pain, swelling, bruising, redness, skin concerns, confusion or unusual behaviorFollowing established emergency and office-notification proceduresAccurately documenting all completed tasks, observations and concernsHelping Hearts provides non-medical personal support. Caregivers must remain within their authorized role and follow the client's approved care plan.Physical RequirementsApplicants must be able to safely perform the essential responsibilities of their accepted assignment, with or without a reasonable accommodation.Physical responsibilities may include:Standing, walking or sitting for extended periodsFrequently bending, reaching, turning and twistingKneeling or squatting when necessary for safe careUsing stairs in certain client homesAssisting clients with walking, balance and mobilityPushing or maneuvering a wheelchairAssisting with repositioning in a bed or chairSupporting safe transfers according to the care planHandling laundry, groceries, household supplies and care equipmentCompleting light housekeeping throughout the shiftWearing required personal protective equipmentResponding promptly during falls, emergencies or changes in conditionThe physical demands of each assignment may vary.
