The Embassy Suites Akron Canton Airport is seeking a Hotel Restaurant Kitchen Cook. If you are interested in working in the food industry, this is an entry-level role to gain experience in the kitchen with future opportunities like prep cook, line cook, or even chef. Food Preparation:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Embassy Suites by Hilton and Commonwealth Hotels recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines. This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and special events.
- Station Management:
- Set up, stock, and maintain workstations to meet kitchen demands during service hours (line cooking, buffet preparation, banquet cooking, etc.).
- Ensure consistent food quality by checking ingredients for freshness, taste, temperature, and presentation.
- Follow Hilton, Commonwealth Hotels, and local health department sanitation and food safety regulations (e.g., proper food handling, cleaning, temperature checks, and storage practices).
- Work closely with kitchen staff, servers, and management to maintain smooth service, especially during high-volume periods like conferences or weddings
- Assist in receiving, rotating, and properly storing inventory and supplies. Help with monthly inventories when needed.
- Occasionally interact with guests (e.g., open kitchen, chef's station events) to ensure satisfaction and accommodate special requests.
- Properly use and clean kitchen equipment, and report maintenance issues promptly to keep operations safe and efficient.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
- Exceptional ability to manage time effectively and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent skills for engaging with guests and collaborating with team members seamlessly.
