• Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour (DOE)
• Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Shift Times: 8:30am - 5:30pm 
• Duration: 7 weeks
• Start Date: 9/14/2025

MINMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Active and valid LVN license (CA Board of Vocational Nursing) 
• 1-2 years of nursing experience in a healthcare setting 
• Previous flu/Vaccine clinic experience
• Knowledge of medical protocols, nursing policies, and procedures 
• Comfortable administering vaccines to patients ages 6 months through adults.
• Strong communication and documentation skills 
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 
• Basic Life Support - American Heart Association 

Preferred: 

• EPIC experience (highly preferred)
• Experience in supporting physicians and RNs in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures 
• Bilingual skills for working with diverse patient populations 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

• Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of nursing practices, medical protocols, and LVN scope of practice as defined by the California Board of Vocational Nursing. 
• Medication Administration: Ability to safely prepare, administer, and record oral and injectable medications. 
• Patient Care Skills: Proficiency in obtaining vital signs, collecting specimens, performing basic diagnostic tests, and assisting with procedures.
• Observation and Reporting: Skill in recognizing changes in patient conditions, accurately documenting findings, and reporting to RNs or physicians. 
• Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members. 
• Patient interaction: Empathy, patience, and the ability to provide emotional support while ensuring patient dignity and comfort. 
• Teamwork. Ability to collaborate effectively with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare staff in a fast-paced environment. 
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing patient needs, priorities, and clinical workflows. 
• Organization: Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

 
Job Requirements:

• Administers nursing care to patients according to physician's and Registered Nurse's instructions and approved nursing and departmental policies and procedures; as a team member, participates in planning and maintaining nursing care plans assists physician in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and treatments; prepares, administers and records ordered medications and injections. 
• Instructs and counsels patients relative to physical self-care and emotional needs concerning tests and specimen collections. 
• Keep accurate records of administration of medications and treatments; makes reports of patient's progress towards goals; maintains medical records in order to meet legal requirements and provide reference for follow-up of patients' treatment and care. 
• Maintain a safe, secure and clean environment; maintains adequate supplies and equipment in assigned area. 
• Provides direct patient care to make patient clean and comfortable; may serve and feed patients; may assist patient with elimination functions. 
• Recognizes and understands the effect of social and economic problems as well as cultural backgrounds and religious affiliations of patients and their families. 
• Screens patients by obtaining histories; observes, reports and records physiological and psychological signs, symptoms and behaviors; takes vital signs; obtains specimens and may perform some required nursing diagnostic tests. 
• Understands human relationships between patients, families and other health care personnel. 
• When working in specialized areas, and after training in special procedures pertaining to such areas, performs specialized procedures as approved by nursing service policy.
