Data Engineer at Bitpanda. About the role Bitpanda is seeking a technical professional to join our data engineering team. You will help maintain our modern data platform and create accessible data products that drive decision-making across our investment services. Location: Barcelona, Spain Engagement: Full-time Team: Data Engineering What you'll do Build and operate a reliable, high-performance data platform. Develop the core data model to support reporting and analytics while establishing standards for data quality, lifecycle management, and governance. Create and maintain observable data pipelines using engineering best practices such as CI/CD, testing, versioning, and code reviews. Collaborate with finance, product, operations, compliance, and engineering departments to deliver measurable data solutions. Participate in strategy and roadmap planning to align technical tasks with company goals. Requirements Proficiency in Python and SQL for building production-grade dataflows. Experience operating and scheduling pipelines with Airflow or Dagster. Modeling and testing transformations using dbt. Experience with cloud infrastructure in AWS (GCP or Azure are acceptable) and managing resources via Terraform or similar tools. Ability to manage Snowflake, including cost optimization, performance tuning, and role-based access control. Knowledge of data governance and quality fundamentals, including lineage, privacy, documentation, and validation. Nice to have Experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, or event collection platforms like RudderStack or Segment. Familiarity with data catalogs such as DataHub or open table formats like Apache Iceberg. Background in feature flags or A/B testing. Skills & tools Python, SQL, Airflow, Dagster, dbt, AWS, Terraform, Snowflake.
