Director-New Product Development Strategic Sourcing

Overview Defines, implements, andowns the organization’s overall sourcing strategy (for new product development)and develops a procurement plan, the definition of requirements, the selectionof suppliers, the development of offers, lead negotiator, the development/executionof contracts, and the management of contracts. Leads operations that buildvalue-driven vendor partnerships focusing on risk management, reliability, andcost-effectiveness for the New Product Development Supply Chain across thecompany. This includes the near-time planning time fence (within the year) and out-going years. Responsiblefor the budget, order fulfillment, and/or inventory of area of responsbility(Product Development/Programs). Responsible initiating the supply chain (New Product Development) for aseveral hundred million dollar annual spend. Responsibilities Manage the delivery of product as part of theorganization’s new product development sourcing/procurement strategy · Develop and gain agreement to annual business plansfor new product development/programs, ensuring alignment with strategy;quantify business outcomes (i.e. revenues or other Key Performance Indicators(KPIs)); detail expense and headcount budgets; and develop business cases forkey projects, ensuring cross-functional integration. Take responsibility for setting and managing areabudgets so they align with organizational strategy. Communicate the function's strategy and itsrelationship to the organization's mission, vision and values; clarify theactions needed to implement it within the area of responsibility; motivatepeople to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve theorganization's business goals. Identify and manage stakeholders up to topmanagement level, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to theseby leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans tosupport the communication of business information and decisions.Support the overall organizational strategy bydeveloping and delivering operational plans and outcomes for new productdevelopment.Manage the delivery of a major part of theorganization's product development program. Take personal responsibility for asmall number of mission-critical strategic supplier relationships for the newproduct development supply chain.Manage and report on the performance of the function /business area; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports andhold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective actionwhere necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.Manage the development/training for direct reports Implement Risk Management throught the New ProductDevelopment supply chain Lead the development of partnering relationships withsenior executives throughout the organization, building high levels ofprofessional credibility and mutual trust, and ensuring that internal clientshave access to high-quality advice and guidance to support in deliveringbusiness strategy and plans Define the detailed organization structure for abusiness area to align with corporate principles, define the relationshipbetween elements of the organization, and define the responsibilities of seniormanagers, to enable the organization to achieve its business objectives. Identify the capabilities needed to meet the currentand emerging business needs of a significant business area. Evaluate currentcapabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Motivateothers to develop their capabilities and fulfill their personal potential.Build capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and otherinformal methods. Ensures Order Fulfillment for responsbile commoditieswithin New Product Development in support of Programs Ensures adherence to budget Ensures adherence to inventory targets/budgets Qualifications Required:Bachelor's Degree required within Supply Chain,Business, or equivalent combination education and experience. 12+ years’ experience that enables job holder toprovide leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes andchallenges. 7+ years direct leadership experienceRepresent Cirrus in a highly professional manner internally and externally.Program/Project management with strong experience in the delivery of complex program management, cross-functional business/capability development and change initiatives.Travel may be required up to 25-50% (domestic and international).Negotiation experience: Negotiates as the organizational authority and established expert to help the organization by obtaining consensus between two or more internal or external parties who may have different interests. Contract Management experience: Acts as the organization's authorities and applies expertise to supervise the construction of assigned properties according to instructions.Effective Communication skills: Acts with expertise as the organization's authority on using clear and effective verbal communications skills to express ideas, request actions and formulate plans or policies.Adaptive Mindset: Operates as a recognized expert to shift into and out of a mental mindset associated with assessing the facts and circumstances of the current situation and/or environment and making the appropriate/innovative adjustments to thinking and work habits to thrive in any scenario.
