About Social Cuts

We're an Austin video production company that runs content for health and wellness brands, event companies, and a few founders you've probably seen on a podcast. Small team, fast pace, real projects. We shoot in clinics, offices, ranches, and wherever the day takes us.

The role

We need a shooter who can be on set tomorrow when a client texts tonight. You'll run camera on social content, long-form YouTube episodes, interviews, and events. Most of it is run and gun: no second takes, no resetting, the moment happens once and you either got it or you didn't. Some days are planned a week out. Some days we find out at 9pm. If that sounds exhausting, this isn't the job. If it sounds like the fun part, keep reading.

What matters most

Honestly, the camera stuff is the easy part to find. What's hard to find is someone our clients want in the room. You'll be around founders, athletes, and their teams all day, often on days that are already stressful for them. You need to read a room, know when to talk and when to disappear, text back fast, and be the kind of person people are glad showed up. If you're great on camera but hard to be around, this won't work.

What you'll do

Shoot run-and-gun and planned content on Sony mirrorless (FX3, A7S III, or similar)

Handle your own audio: lavs, shotgun, on-camera backup

Dump, organize, and upload footage the same day

Pull selects and assist editors when you're not shooting

Second camera on bigger productions

Keep gear ready to go
