Membership Service Coordinator

The full-time shift we are hiring for is the OPENING SHIFT at the service desk: MONDAY - FRIDAY 4:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. (35-40 HOURS; MAY WORK UP TO 40 HOURS). This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This person delivers excellent customer service by responding to the needs of all members, guests and program participants, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the lobby area, and providing a positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement. Job Duties Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA. Additional Expectations Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times. Attend monthly staff meetings to communicate problems, policies, and procedures as well as correcting and addressing errors made by member services staff and highlighting successes of the department. Assist in the training of new Membership Representatives. Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. CPR & First Aid Certification (this can be completed the first 90 days after your date of hire) Excellent interpersonal & problem-solving skills. Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds. Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
