Job Summary:The Senior Data Analyst, Providers plays a critical role in partnering with cross-functional leaders to shape and deliver Octave's provider analytics strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for defining key provider and clinical performance metrics, generating insights, and building scalable data models and analytics products that empower teams to make data-informed decisions. The ideal candidate is both a thinker and a doer who thrives in ambiguity, deeply understands clinical and operational workflows, and is passionate about using data to improve patient outcomes and provider performance.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Partner closely with clinical, operations, product, and engineering teams to identify key business problems and develop analytics solutions that drive growth and innovation.
- Develop dashboards, reporting, and self-service tools that enable teams to monitor performance and make data-informed decisions.
- Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and guide understanding of clinical quality and provider product needs.
- Collaborate with peers to design and maintain data models within Octave's data warehouse to ensure reliable, scalable datasets that support analytics across the organization.
- Leverage AI tools as a core part of daily work (drafting, research, iteration) to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to translate complex clinical workflows and operational processes into scalable data and reporting frameworks.
- Ability to connect data insights to business strategy and communicate findings clearly to a wide range of audiences.
- Self-directed curiosity; a knack for asking the right questions and comfortably navigating ambiguity to answer them.
- Able to confidently and independently drive projects from conception to completion.
- Deep understanding of clinical data, including treatment modalities, clinical notes, patient assessment data, and care pathways.
- Track record of improving clinical KPIs, such as patient engagement, treatment adherence, outcome measurement, and operational efficiency through data-driven insights.
- Strong understanding of healthcare data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and best practices for handling sensitive patient information.
- Comfort using AI tools in day-to-day workflows, with a willingness to continuously rethink and improve how work gets done.
- Curiosity and openness to experimenting with new tools and approaches; prior experience with AI tools is a plus.
- 4+ years working in analytics / data science, preferably at a start-up or a technology-focused healthcare company.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience performing analysis and complex data transformations with SQL.
- Experience manipulating large data sets and uncovering insights utilizing disparate data sources and tools.
- Experience using clinical data tools and platforms (e.g., electronic medical records systems, patient assessment collection tools) and data visualization tools like Tableau and Hex to track and analyze clinical performance and outcomes.
- Experience with healthcare quality metrics, patient satisfaction, and care effectiveness measurement.
- Experience with dbt / Git / Python / R is a plus.

Base Salary Range Octave is committed to pay equity and transparency. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location/ zone. Final pay within the posted range will be decided based on a combination of job-related factors, including education, training, experience, and market demands.
- Geo 1 (All other states & D.C.): $132,100 - $142,600
- Geo 2 (CO, HI, MD, RI): $145,300- $156,900
- Geo 3 (AK, CA, CT, MA, NJ, NY, WA): $152,000 - $164,000
Variable Compensation & Equity
- Performance Bonus: This role is not currently eligible for bonus incentives.
- Equity Awards: This role is eligible to participate in Octave's equity program via Stock Options, subject to the terms of the applicable Equity Incentive Plan.
- Remote Work Stipend: New full-time employees receive a $300 equipment reimbursement to support a home office setup.
- Internet & Phone Reimbursement: Full-time employees are eligible for a monthly reimbursement of up to $75 for internet and cell phone related expenses.
