Advanced EMT | Emergency Medical Technician (EMT/AEMT)

This role involves providing patient care and transportation services as part of an advanced life support ambulance team. Working under state certification and local medical protocols, you will deliver emergency, non-emergency, convalescent, and long-distance transport services within a busy metropolitan region in the Southeastern United States.

Education and Certification: Must hold a current state license for EMT or AEMT; National Registry certification is not accepted. Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required and may be renewed during orientation. Additionally, completion of NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses is mandatory. All certifications must be maintained throughout employment.

Experience: At least one year of field EMS, rescue, or related experience is necessary. Familiarity with emergency medical procedures, rescue techniques, hazardous material incidents, and pre-hospital care equipment is essential. Knowledge of regional geography, including major streets, landmarks, and healthcare facilities, should be acquired within six months of employment.

Requirements: Ability to work calmly under high-stress conditions while following established protocols. Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare personnel. Must be capable of safely operating various ambulance vehicles and possess a valid driver's license. Physical ability to lift and move patients weighing up to 150 pounds regularly, including transferring patients between beds, chairs, and stretchers. Sensory acuity in hearing, speaking, and vision is required. The role demands mobility across multiple locations, sometimes in confined spaces, and the ability to assume awkward positions during emergency situations.
