Manufacturing Equipment Reliability Technician

Location: Rochester Hills, Michigan

A day in the life

Before the lines warm up, you’re already in motion—walking the floor, listening for changes in pitch, checking readings, and confirming that lockout/tagout/tryout procedures are followed whenever hands are near moving parts. When production ramps, you’re the calm at the center: performing preventive and predictive maintenance, adjusting a pneumatic valve here, diagnosing a hydraulic pressure drop there, and tuning a drive to smooth out a power transfer. If a motor overheats, you trace the issue, swap a failed component, and bring the asset back online with minimal downtime. In between calls, you document work in the system, research parts via HMI/touchscreens and computers, and support sample runs, tool setups, and mold changes. You keep the space organized and safe, and you partner with production to reduce scrap, boost throughput, and improve processes.

Schedule & Pay

• Monday: 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Tuesday – Friday: 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Overtime: available as needed

Starting Pay:

• $26.65 – $29.85 per hour based on relevant experience
• Increases to $27.72 – $30.91 per hour after 90 days

What you’ll take on

• Keep production equipment operating safely and reliably through routine monitoring and care
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and equipment failures quickly and effectively
• Assist with installing and commissioning new production machinery
• Contribute to safety, productivity, and scrap-reduction improvements across the facility
• Perform tool setups, mold changes, and production sampling when needed
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work area
• Support general facility maintenance and equipment upkeep

What you bring

• At least 3 years of hands-on maintenance work in a manufacturing or production setting
• Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and power transmission systems
• Strong grasp of Lock Out / Tag Out / Try Out procedures and industrial safety standards
• Foundational electrical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Experience repairing and installing motors, pumps, compressors, filters, and chillers
• Mechanical aptitude spanning welding, pipe fitting, and sheet metal fabrication
• Comfort using HMIs, touchscreens, and computer systems for data entry and equipment research
• Background in foam or plastics manufacturing is preferred
• Familiarity with Krauss Maffei, Hennecke, or Desma equipment is a plus
