Distributed Sun (DSUN) is a clean energy infrastructure provider founded in 2009 that develops, finances, owns, and operates solar and battery storage projects across the community solar, commercial & industrial and utility-scale markets. It has developed and delivered systems – many the first-of-their-kind – in 17 states. truCurrent, a DSUN on-site distributed energy resources company, provides end-to-end energy transition services for Fortune 500 companies and other enterprises. truCurrent integrates microgrid infrastructure aligned to regulatory and capital markets to deliver energy solutions at the grid edge. Trusted partners rely upon our energy transition roadmap services combined with development and financing solutions to meet or exceed their energy goals: economic, environmental and operational. Our focus is projects that serve C&I clients, data centers, EV charging infrastructure, and behind-the-meter battery storage applications.

Responsibilities:

This is a role for a results-driven individual with a 'client-first' mindset, who will take responsibility for targeting, qualifying, and securing business and revenue growth opportunities for multiple technologies across our Energy-as-a-Service business. You will play a key role in identifying new business in the corporate energy transition sector, particularly BESS, Solar PV and EV charging infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with a strong track record in renewable energy sales or a background in project development who is looking to leverage their industry expertise and relationships to drive business growth. • Originate and close new distribution-connected projects across storage, fuel cell, solar, EV charging, and microgrid projects

• Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with go-to-market plans and revenue targets

• Identify and engage prospects through targeted outreach and stakeholder mapping

• Build strong client relationships, understand needs, and deliver tailored solutions

• Lead proposal development, presentations, and client communications aligning with company brand

• Negotiate and finalize commercial agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes

• Collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate opportunities and structure compelling solutions

• Maintain accurate pipeline tracking in CRM systems

• Lead internal BD meetings with clear objectives and follow-through

• Champion projects through the full sales and development lifecycle

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (minimum of 3+ years) originating and closing complex energy deals with large C&I customers and/or utilities

• Experienced in energy industry with understanding of electricity markets, distributed generation, and energy infrastructure (ideally BESS) preferred

• Demonstrated ability to manage full sales cycles and multiple concurrent deals

• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to craft clear, compelling narratives

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with financial models

• Ability to work cross-functionally and engage stakeholders from technical teams to the C-suite

• Self-motivated, organized, and able to operate with autonomy

• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• Willingness to travel up to 30%

Location:

Willingness to work flexibly, Tues/Weds in our Washington, DC HQ, Mon/Thurs/Fri from home is preferred, or remote. Please note that our team operates on Eastern Time hours.
