Business Development Specialist - IP/IP Litigation

Overview

A leading international professional services firm is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support its Intellectual Property and Intellectual Property Litigation practices. This role will partner closely with business development leadership and attorneys to drive client development, marketing, and visibility initiatives that support practice growth.

The ideal candidate will have experience in legal or professional services marketing and business development, with strong project management, communication, and research skills. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives including pitches and proposals, events, legal directory submissions, market research, and strategic marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of pitches, proposals, and RFP responses by drafting content, coordinating materials, and ensuring quality and consistency.

  • Assist with the planning and execution of client-facing events, seminars, webinars, sponsorships, and networking initiatives.

  • Coordinate and manage legal directory submissions, including rankings and industry recognition opportunities.
  • Conduct market, client, industry, and competitive intelligence research to support business development efforts.
  • Maintain practice experience and marketing content within the firm's content management systems.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams on content development and visibility initiatives.
  • Support onboarding activities for lateral hires and assist with client feedback and relationship development programs.
  • Contribute to broader marketing and business development projects as needed.
Requirements

  • Experience in business development, marketing, or related professional services roles, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.

  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting pitches, proposals, RFPs, and client development initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize market and competitive intelligence.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and content management systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, business professionals, and firm leadership.
  • Experience with legal directory submissions, events, and sponsorship management is a plus.
