Professional Staff Nurse, OP - Staff or Senior - OB/GYN (Cranberry Township)

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a flex full-time Professional Staff Nurse, OP to join their Greater Pittsburgh OB/GYN office in Cranberry Township, PA! We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated nurse for a  busy OB/GYN practice! We provide obstetric and gynecological care for women in all stages of their lives. If you are positive, willing to learn, and have a passion for women’s health, we would love to meet you! 

This position is Flex Full-Time, which means your work schedule fluctuates between 28-40 hours per week based on business needs. But, full-time benefits are available with this position. Hours for this position will be weekdays, daylight hours, with no evenings, weekends or holidays! Previous OB/GYN nursing experience is preferred but not required. 

Applicants will be placed into the appropriate level of the Outpatient Nursing Career Ladder based on experience and education. The pay range listed is for a Senior level, which requires 2 years of experience plus an MSN or UPMC approved certification.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participates in department or practice-specific quality improvement efforts. Identifies opportunity for quality improvement to colleagues and management. Provides detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them through the episode of care both in the office setting and via phone/written communication when at home. • Formulates goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner. Triages patient situations and coordinates care with physician. Assist physician with all aspects of patient care including assessment, evaluation and education. Demonstrates critical thinking in the identification of clinical, social, safety, psychological and spiritual issues for the patient care within an episode of care. Practices solid communication skills, and is able to articulate and translate the patient’s condition to other care providers and to negotiate and make recommendations for changes in patient care and office practices.
