Senior Software Developer

Our client, a pioneering energy company developing advanced technologies in the nuclear and clean energy space, is seeking a Senior Software Developer to support development of a critical internal data platform. This role focuses on building and maintaining a full stack application that serves as a central data system supporting complex, data-intensive infrastructure projects. Location: Bellevue, WA - Hybrid/Onsite Duration: 12+ months Compensation: $70.00 - $100.00 per hour. Additional Compensation: This position is not eligible for bonus or incentive compensation. • Develop and maintain a full stack application used as a central data system for complex engineering projects
• Support a Python/Django backend and JavaScript/Vue3 frontend within a small, high-performing development team
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability while addressing user needs and bug fixes
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, and internal users to enhance system functionality and usability
• Contribute to a high-quality, regulated software environment supporting critical infrastructure

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, document, and test software based on defined requirements and user feedback
• Refactor and maintain code to improve long-term performance and developer productivity
• Identify, prioritize, and execute work independently in a fast-paced development environment
• Support verification and validation activities to ensure software meets specifications
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve system efficiency
• Perform backend data management operations based on user and business needs
• Translate feature requests into formal software requirements
• Train and support internal users on system functionality
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other developers
• Support CI/CD systems, including build pipelines and testing frameworks
• Maintain and support Linux-based server environments
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on code changes
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in web application development
• Strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript
• Deep expertise in Django and web application architecture
• Experience working with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue3
• Proficiency with development tools including Git, IDEs, debuggers, profilers, and test frameworks
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and quality assurance practices
• Ability to work independently and deliver in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams

Nice to Have:

• Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field
• Expertise building and maintaining Linux application and database servers
• In-depth experience with Django REST Framework
• Experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD systems
• Experience with Vue3 and Quasar frameworks
• Experience supporting large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects
• Experience working in NQA-1 or similar regulated environments
