Responsibilities of the Assistant Regional Manager
- The management of the Low Country Region or a single branch office in the absence of assigned management. This includes mentoring assigned management with personnel matters, inventory, implementation of agency policies and procedures, and other areas as required.
- Manages, directs, plans, mentors, and coordinates the activities necessary for the day-to-day office operation of branch offices. Performs and assists with audits of offices and associated entities operating under the Agency's enforcement areas. Monitors miscellaneous investigations ensuring department criteria and policies have been met. Mentor management on personnel matters (such as hiring), performance appraisals, disciplinary actions and time management. Mentor management team, conduct assessments, record results, and review results with chain of command.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of Mobile Operations, that include the CARES Vehicle and SHARK Kits. Creates and monitors schedules and destinations for CARES Vehicle and SHARK Kits. Maintains inventory of office supplies, as well as some upkeep and maintenance of the units. Responsible for supervisory duties of CARES Vehicle and SHARK Kits.
- Responsible for coordinating and providing uninterrupted DMV services in response to a disaster, emergency situation or in an under-served area of the state as needed.
- Guides management on DMV policies, procedures, and business processes. Perform transactions accurately. Transactions include but are not limited to driver services, vehicle services, and preparation of daily reports.
- Answer customer and manager inquiries pertaining to driver, vehicle, contact center and operating procedures by phone, in person, and/or email. Reconciles and prepares individual daily report, deposit, and refund request documents.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted with prior approval.
- Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.
- Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license.
- Requires region wide travel throughout Branch Services Low Country Region that includes 16 Branch Offices.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws and procedures.
- Skill in planning, scheduling, directing and reviewing work of subordinates to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to conduct meetings, interviews, and conferences, and must have computer skills.
- Ability to train and mentor branch management teams. Thorough knowledge of SCDMV policies and procedures, specifically related to the day-to-day operation of a Branch Office.
- Ability to deploy CARES vehicle and SHARK Kits.
- Ability to communicate, interact, and transfers skills to managers and subordinates.
- Excellent customer service skills with internal and external customers.
- Reports directly to the Low Country Regional Manager under limited supervision and is responsible for management of the region or a branch office in the absence of assigned management. This includes mentoring assigned management with personnel matters, inventory, and other areas as needed.
- Also, responsible for the coordinating and leading operational functions for Mobile Operations that include, the CARES Vehicle and SHARK Kits.
- Must know or be trained on procedures of Mobile Operations that include the CARES Vehicle and SHARK Kits.
- Statewide travel required.
- Overnight stay may be required.
- Limited overtime may be required to meet departmental deadlines or to serve all customers.
- This position may require sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods of time, walking, and constant talking.
- A bachelor's degree and two (2) years relevant experience.
