This is a high-impact role for a hands-on network engineer who enjoys mentoring others, collaborating across teams, and leading by influence—without needing prior formal lead experience.What You'll Be Doing:This role is intentionally balanced:Lead by example and mentor junior engineers (2 direct reports)Supervise network and security operationsShare knowledge and support team growthDesign, support, and troubleshoot enterprise and global networksWork across LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, DNS, SD-WANProvide 2nd & 3rd-level support and root cause analysisPartner with global teams (including EU stakeholders)Participate in and lead network projects and upgradesMaintain strong documentation and operational standardsWhat We're Looking For:Strong networking fundamentals and system design understandingExperience in Cisco-based enterprise environmentsHands-on knowledge of: LAN / WAN / WLAN / VPNDNS, subnetting, routing & switchingExposure to firewalls and network security (ASA, Fortinet are nice to have)Excellent communication skills— personality matters hereCoachable, collaborative, and comfortable taking initiativeEnjoys mentoring others and working cross-functionallyBachelor's degree and certifications are NOT required (CCNA, Cisco training, or similar are a plus)Environment & CultureGlobal enterprise network environmentPeople-first, collaborative team cultureManager who values communication, curiosity, and growthTeam of 23 total; strong cross-team collaborationHybrid schedule: Onsite: Mondays & FridaysRemote: 2 days per weekCompensationPay Rate: $45–$60/hour (W2), 3-month contract with intent to convertContract-to-hire with conversion salary in the $100K–$110K range + bonus, based on experienceInterview ProcessStage 1: 1-hour video interview with hiring manager (Conversational, personality-focused)Stage 2: Onsite panel interviewStage 3: Virtual panel interview with global (EU/Belgium) teamWhy This Role?Lead without being stuck in managementReal influence, real ownershipStrong mix of hands-on engineering and collaborationHybrid flexibility with global exposureFast-moving, high-visibility opportunity
