Medical Office Clerk - Flexible Schedule (Float Pool)

Locations 1945 Tamarack Dr. Newark, OH 43055, USA Description Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is a leading non‑profit healthcare organization dedicated to improving community health. The Physician Center Clerk (PCC) provides clerical support to the patient care team in the physician center. Position Summary With minimal supervision, the PCC is responsible for providing all aspects of clerical support to the patient care team, working collaboratively with all staff members of the physician center. Responsibilities Answer phone and enter phone notes. Open and distribute incoming mail and faxes. Update all demographic information at check‑in. Scan test results into the electronic medical record. Schedule patient appointments in IDX. Collect co‑payments and outstanding balances. Coordinate referral process. Prepare mailings identified by manager or physician. Perform end‑of‑day duties including appointment reconciliation and cash accounting. Requirements Read, write, and follow verbal instructions. Ability to operate various office machines including a personal computer, fax, copier, etc. Customer service oriented. Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred). Basic insurance knowledge (preferred). Understand that LMHS is accredited by DNV and TJC and may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
