CT Technologist

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using CT scanners, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This role involves verifying patient identity, coordinating with physicians, preparing patients for scans including IV insertion when necessary, positioning patients safely, and maintaining accurate records in EPIC and PACS systems. The technologist must maintain a clean and safe scanning environment and adhere to all safety protocols. This position requires at least two years of experience, NYS licensure, and BLS certification. Responsibilities:

• Confirm patient identity and verify exams prior to scans according to department policies.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging services.
• Prepare patients for CT scans, explaining procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation.
• Insert IVs when required for imaging tests.
• Position patients safely, including lifting or moving those with limited mobility using proper patient handling techniques.
• Maintain accurate patient records by documenting all necessary information in EPIC and ensuring images are correctly sent to PACS.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized scanning facility.

• Completion of formal training from an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Valid New York State licensure (must be obtained prior to starting).
• Minimum of two years of CT technologist experience.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

• Injection certification or willingness to complete during orientation.
• Experience with Philips and Siemens CT equipment.
• Epic electronic medical record system experience, preferably within the last year.

• Must be able to work overnight shifts Monday through Thursday from 9:30 pm to 8:00 am EST.
• On-call, callback, and holiday coverage as needed by the unit.
• Ability to safely handle and position patients with limited mobility.

• Weekday overnight shifts: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 pm to 8:00 am EST.
• On-call and callback duties as required.
• Holiday shifts as assigned based on unit needs.
