QA Automation EngineerOur client, a health insurance company, is looking for a QA Automation Engineer for their Reston, VA / Hybrid location.Responsibilities:Responsible for developing, modifying, and executing software test plans, test scenarios, defines and solves for test data needs, automated scripts, and programs for testing in order to ensure the outgoing software and technical products meet and exceed quality standards.Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their root causes.Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software engineers and product owners.Participates in the review of software design and leads the team in supporting the overall quality of various software systems and applications.Develops a strong understanding of the business processes being tested and mentors junior staff.40% Responsible for analyzing the moderately complex requirements, operational problems, specifications and change requests.Produce test plans and test cases to determine presence and scope of potential code defects.Monitor accurate and thorough test cases, scripts and data with pre-determined results within specified scheduled dates.Perform test execution of all assigned test cases.Research and provide technical support on operational/test system defects and propose solutions.40% Analyzes test results to ensure functionality meets requirements and recommends corrective action if necessary.Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of systems, application interfaces and application software.20% Guide and mentor team of testers in support of the projects and day-to-day to testing effort.This is also includes supporting and working with associates, contractors and third-party resources.Requirements:Education level: Bachelor's DegreeEducation details: Information Technology, Engineering or Computer ScienceExperience: Min 5 years- and up to 10 years of Experience in software development and/or testing.In lieu of education: In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.8 -10 Years of experience (Strong UI, Web Services & Mobile Test Automation Required)8-10 years of experience in a technical discipline, 5 of which must be in automated software testing with core framework development.Knowledge of AWS and cloud testingExperience with test automation framework architectural designExperience with Object Oriented Design, and extensive use of programming languages (Java, JavaScript, SQL/PL-SQL)Strong experience with Selenium, Cucumber and BDD FrameworkStrong Knowledge in Mobile test automation (eg: Appium)Experience in Webservices test automation using tools like Soap UIExperience with relational database management systems (e.g. MS SQL Server, DB2, Oracle,) Proven proficiency with: SQL and PL/SQLProven experience to create, maintain and run complex database queries.Proven experience with Agile and Waterfall software development life cycle (SDLC) modelsExperience in multiple environments and/or on multiple operating systems (i.e., Windows, Linux, UNIX, Mainframe) and technologies (.Net, Web technologies, etc.)Ability to work independently and effectively in small teams is necessary, and to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentIndividual must demonstrate initiative, work well independently as well as a contributing member of a team.Should be well organized and detail oriented as well as possessing good written and oral communication skillPreferred qualifications:Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), ExpertKnowledge of software test requirements and protocols, ExpertExcellent communication skills both written and verbal, AdvancedAbility to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems, AdvancedKnowledge of wireless communications and network systems, AdvancedAdvanced programming skills on a programming language, AdvancedWorking experience with databases, AdvancedKnowledge of Microsoft Office products or equivalent, AdvancedAttention to detail, AdvancedExperience working in the healthcare industryWhy Should You Apply?Health BenefitsReferral ProgramExcellent growth and advancement opportunities
