Senior Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Team LeadYour responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Acting as the Mechanical team lead by overseeing a team of junior engineers and designers in coordinating detailed design phases for all aspects of mechanical engineering workWorking on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of mechanical engineering issuesDeveloping integrated systems designs for the planned work, including:Design, modification, and analysis of power plant mechanical systems, including primary steam/water cycle systems and secondary balance of plant systemsDesign, modification, and analysis of Oil & Gas mechanical systems/facilities, including compressor stations, meter stations, pump stations, pipelines, gas processing plants, wellhead systems, central gathering facilities, and CO2/CCUS facilitiesPreparing and reviewing calculations to support equipment sizing, optimization evaluations, and selectionPreparing and reviewing technical specifications for mechanical engineering equipmentPreparing and reviewing material lists, equipment lists, line listsReviewing piping drawings (Isometrics, composites, plans, sections, and elevations)Preparing and reviewing engineering studies and technical reportsPerforming independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparationCoordinating and providing guidance to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure a complete and timely designPerforming reviews of existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, and presenting findings and recommendations to clients and peersDeveloping your career via peer-learning through knowledge sharing with other experienced engineers by way of S&L's systems of process and associated "Communities of Practice"Providing guidance as a mentor in the development of less-experienced engineersCommunicating and interacting with client staffThere is potential for travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination, field verification of designs, or supporting facility commissioningProvide input/oversight of company standardsDesirable Engineering experience includes:P&ID DevelopmentPiping Design ReviewProcess/Hydraulic CalculationsEngineering EvaluationsCorrosion ProtectionPHA participationConstructability ReviewsEngineering liaison to support construction of new generation power facilitiesGas Processing / Gas Plant designThis position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week in Midland, TX.QualificationsWe do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
