Job Description
Acute Travel Registered Nurse (Med/Surg)

Position Overview

This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population with various medical and surgical needs. The position requires clinical expertise and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver and coordinate patient care for adults in the trauma, orthopedic, surgical, and urology specialties.
Monitor and assess patient conditions, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions are implemented.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and execute individualized patient care plans.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in the electronic health record system (EPIC).
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health management.
Exercise flexibility by floating to other units as needed, working within the established patient populations.

Position Requirements

Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an acute care setting.
Certifications: Valid nursing license; EPIC experience preferred.
Education: Mandatory passing of dysrhythmia and math of dosage tests prior to unit assignment.
Skills: Ability to manage a patient ratio of up to 7:1 effectively.
Personality Fit: Candidates should exhibit a friendly demeanor, flexibility, and a willingness to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Work Schedule

Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours, with opportunities for additional shifts.
Weekend Requirement: Minimum of four weekend shifts in a four-week schedule, including at least two weekends.

Unit Information

Bed Capacity: 44 beds across two nursing stations.
Patient Ratios: Typical ratios of 6:1, potentially increasing to 7:1.

Additional Information

Equipment Used: Various medical equipment relevant to acute care.
Dress Code: Professional appearance is required; specific scrub colors are not mandated, but staff should adhere to guidelines regarding attire and accessories.

Qualified candidates will undergo necessary screenings and clearances before starting. Orientation is conducted weekly, and professionals who are willing to travel from further distances are encouraged to apply.
