About This Role

Crievewood UMC Child Care Center is looking for an enthusiastic, toddler loving team member to join our 40+ year established program! Position requires approximately 35 to 40 hours per week, with early childhood education/experience highly preferred. Candidates with early childhood education degree, CDA or TECTA certification move to the top of the candidate list. Small class size with two teachers in the room for much of the day.

What You'll Do

Plan, organize and execute age-appropriate daily learning activities.

Engage in the daily learning activities, being mindful of age-appropriateness, educational merit, and fun.

Communicate effectively with families on a daily basis regarding child development and progress.

Adapt daily routines to meet the needs and goals of the children in the class.

Collaborate with other preschool teachers, and enjoy interaction with teachers and administration.

Encourage creative thinking and learning without screen time,

 

Requirements

Must be 18 years old and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Must pass a background check.

Up to date immunizations.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of educational techniques and methods for teaching young children.

Patient and supportive to learning process, particularly potty training.

Enthusiastic and encouraging.

Ability to stand and move around, sit on the floor for long hours while teaching.

Excellent communication skills with both children and adults.

Prior experience working in child care, particularly with young children.

 

Nice To Haves

Experience working with young children, specifically toddlers to 3 year olds.

Early childhood education degree, CDA, or TECTA certification
