Location: Louisiana
Schedule: Rotating 1st & 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday
Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks (Temp-to-Perm Opportunity)
Position Overview
RPh on the Go is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to join a hospital pharmacy team serving a 131-bed facility with an average daily census of 60-70 active patients. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who thrives in a collaborative acute care environment and is interested in a long-term career opportunity.
The Pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing and verifying medication orders, ensuring safe and effective medication therapy, collaborating with healthcare providers, and supporting quality patient care throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities
Review, verify, and process physician medication orders
Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication therapies
Monitor patient medication regimens and identify potential drug-related issues
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Provide pharmacokinetic and clinical pharmacy support as needed
Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and hospital regulations
Support medication distribution processes and automated dispensing systems
Document pharmacy interventions and activities within the electronic medical record

Average Daily Census: 60-70 Active Patients

Automated Dispensing System: Pyxis
QualificationsRequired
Active Louisiana Pharmacist License
Previous inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
Experience with Epic (training available)
Experience with Pyxis (training available)
